Carpet beetles can become pests in the home if left unchecked. Young carpet beetles and larva feed on natural fibres like wool, silk and leather, as well as animal product such as pet hair.
Carpet moths are a common household textile pest, carpet moth larva feed on mainly keratin found in natural fibres such as wool, so will live on any carpet with wool content. Wool and cashmere jumpers are also at risk of theses pests.
A carpet moth infestation can cause serious damage to carpets and soft furnishings, you may notice the carpet fibres have been chewed and small white cases (the size of a grain of rice) behind furniture or in dark places
A professional treatment is the best way to deal with this problem, a survey will be carried out to asses the extent of the problem then a treatment plan will be made. Treatment with an insecticide spray will be carried out and its likely to take more than one treatment to resolve the problem.
