Grey Squirrels
Grey squirrels can cause an untold amount of damage. They often look for shelter in a loft space chewing through fascia boards to gain access. Wooden beams are often chewed as are wires which can cause a fire hazard. They can be easily heard in the loft space especially at night when everything is quiet. The grey squirrel is not native to the UK.
The only way to deal with these pests is to trap them and humanely dispatch them. Once a grey squirrel has been caught in a trap its against the law to release them.
The main sign to look out for is an unexplained noise, usually coming from the loft, droppings can sometimes be seen.
Grey squirrels can usually be fairly easily dealt with.
